Monthly works for most people
A monthly test is frequent enough to show progress while giving your hands, forearms and training plan time to change. If grip training is a major part of your program, testing every two weeks can work as long as the setup stays consistent.
Keep the setup identical
Use the same dynamometer, handle setting, posture, warm-up and rest time. Small technique changes can move the number enough to look like progress or regression.
Do not max out every day
Daily maximum attempts are noisy. Sleep, stress, prior pulling work and soreness can all affect the reading. For tracking, a clean repeatable test matters more than constant checking.
